Distress Oxide & Modeling Paste Cards

Mixed media cards do not require a heap of different products.  In this video you will see how Tim Holtz Distress Oxides are used with modeling paste and a stencil to create a wonderful background effect.  In the video, the texture paste is called embossing paste but this is just another name for modeling paste.  In the video the paste appears to be a light modeling paste but any modeling paste will work, a heavier bodied modeling paste will just take a little longer to mix with the distress oxide.

The beauty of modeling paste over the top of Distress Oxides or Distress Inks, is that it draws the colour from the background (the oxide or distress ink) and pulls it into the paste, creating a beautiful soft effect on the card.  Plus it's a lot of fun to try this technique!

When finishing off the card with your sentiment and leaves, you do not need the exact same ones used here.  Any delicate leaf die will work beautifully.
