July 2022 Lesson Schedule

Hi to all our Paper Flourish crafting family, we hope you are getting lots of creative paper crafting happiness through these colder days.

Our teachers have been busy as usual putting together some amazing projects. This month we have included an album designed by Sharon, Ruth’s ‘Your Choice’ Exploding Box(s) and acetate cards, Marina’s Flower making Masterclass, and our Dylusion’s journal class with Julie and Sharon. And you have probably heard our exciting news - we have someone HUGE in the crafting world coming to Paper Flourish at the end of July. Antonis Tzanidakis from Stamperia is coming to do some fantastic mixed media work shops in our store!

Of course we have all our regular popular projects such as Lavinia, Copic, Mystery layouts, Tim Holtz, Alcohol Inks with Lynette, and so much more.

Reminder: Adriana is visiting us from Couture Creations and foiling machines are due back in stock in July. Just sooo much fun to choose from, it is all happening here at Paper Flourish!!


Cardmakers Club $20

Friday 1st July - 1.30pm


Paper Flourish holds a Cardmakers Club each month.

Join in, receive a monthly challenge, and share your creations with each other to inspire and motivate! You will receive a free demonstration and also a $20 voucher to spend in store on full priced retail products.

Due to the popularity of this Club, you will need to book in order to attend.

Dylusions Journal - $30

Saturday 2nd July – 10am-12.30pm


Dylusions is back & here to stay.

If you were at Paper Flourish over the last few weeks and saw a journal up on our lesson board which was bright, colourful & stood out from a mile away, then you saw last month’s Dylusions page.

Dylusions products are weird & wonderful. We use the brightest of bright, the craziest of crazy, & the funnest of fun (that word exists in Dylusions World).

Cakes, cupcakes & a cup of tea leads off this month’s pages. Come along & join in the fun! Time to let our hair down & go a bit wild. The best way to live life!

Julie used White Gesso to prepare the Journal pages– this can be done at home or in class.

Suitable for: all levels including Beginners.

What to bring: Basic Tool Kit, Dylusions insert book (these are available for purchase at Paper Flourish), PAINT BRUSHES (sets are available at Paper Flourish for purchase if you don’t have them), scissors for fussy cutting (not too much fussy cutting we promise), sanding block, 450 glue, disposable gloves if you don’t like getting inky fingers, & an apron which you don’t mind getting a bit messy!

Please also bring with you any colouring pens you have (Poscas, Copic, paint pens etc).

Alcohol Ink ‘Starry Night ’with Lynette $30

Saturday 2nd July – 2pm-4pm


At this class you will be covering the basics of alcohol ink and also learning a few different techniques. As the finale, Lynette will help you create this stunning ‘starry night’ card front to use (or keep as it is soooo amazing).

Die Cutting Machine Demo – FREE

Monday 4th July – 11am


Wanting to update your manual die-cutting machine? Needing or wanting a new machine?? Suffering from hand, shoulder or back pain?? Wanting to upgrade to an electric 8” machine? Come along to this demo to get all the information about how to use and care for your die-cutting machine, the differences between machines, the price differences, manual and electric machines, and which machine may suit your needs.

You will be shown various techniques including how best to keep your plates flat, how to get the best cut from your dies, the use of die release paper, how to use your embossing folders, and how to emboss your dies.

Lots of information, hints, and tips.

A set of 4 diamond themed cards for this month, using beautiful 49 and Market paper of soft apricot and green with beautiful flowers and butterflies.

Simple but effective folds and cuts are used with a little bit of fussy cutting.

Copic Club - $27

Paper Flourish hosts two Copic Club events each month! These functions are an opportunity for people to learn from each other, show their projects, practice new techniques, and have a lot of fun.

 There will be hand-outs, colouring challenges, and of course you will continue to receive your free Copic Sketch Marker at every meeting.

The normal price for Copic Sketch and Ink refills is $11.95 (Special: Buy 5 get 1 FREE), BUT for Copic Club members at the class you can buy as many as you want for the Special Club price of $9.70 each!!

Gel Press Inky Backgrounds $27

In this Inky Background class you will learn different techniques to use your Gel Press.

You will use stamps and stencils to achieve different effects and make these three beautiful cards as well as gain some new skills that will be handy for all of your future projects.

Lavinia with Julie - $30

Who makes the cutest Mushroom & Toadstool stamps? Lavinia of course. Who sells these cute stamps? Paper Flourish of course. Who makes the cutest cards with these stamps? You will at this month’s Lavinia classes.

The new Acrylic & Mica Sprays have arrived at Paper Flourish. Wait till you see the beautiful colours. This month’s cards will start with a background created with these sprays. We will then have so much fun stamping and decorating the cards.

During the class you will create the 4 cards plus the card front of the Inspirational Card. This month’s inspirational card will give you the chance to recreate the gorgeous Lavinia design from the Lavinia 2022 Calendar July page. Julie has recreated this card as close to the Lavinia design as she can. The July Calendar page features the sweet Forest Hares in the moonlight. Of course, all mushrooms & toadstools need glitter – watch out Paper Flourish carpet! Here it comes!

Paper Garden Masterclass with Marina -$15

Monday 11th July – 10am-11.30am


Marina has something special for you this month!!!

In her inspirational Masterclass you will learn the necessary skills to make your own beautiful, realistic 3D paper flowers. Come along and learn from the ‘Master’ all the tips, tricks and techniques.

Marina will share her knowledge on which tools and adhesives are best, as well as hints and tips to cut, colour and shape flowers, leaves and branches. She will discuss different colouring mediums such as Copics and distress inks as well as paper pollen to add detail to stamens and mini Prills to embellish flower centres.

These same techniques will be used to make the Floral Wreath Card with Marina on the 25th July.

Suitable for: Everyone including beginners

Tools & Inks Used: Your own set of Bigshot or Spellbinders cutting plates, basic tool kit including craft mat, liquid glue (Art Glitter Glue, Aleene’s Tacky Glue or similar) flower shaping tool kit or various size stylus (2mm; 5mm and 8mm) and molding mat, reverse tweezers, detail tweezers, mini mister, small sharp scissors, a clean eraser, distress inks in various shades of green and ink blending tools.

How Does your Garden Grow Art Journal - $30

Wednesday 13th July – 9.30am-12pm


This month’s journal celebrates the gorgeous Dina Wakley Acrylic Paints. These adorable bottles of paint give the most beautiful finish and colour to your projects and come in every colour you could wish for and more.

Sparkle is added to the page with the new Prima Finnabair Jewel Paste and the pages are finished off with amazing, & maybe a bit quirky, Tim Holtz ephemera.

Julie used the 8 5/8” square journal but the pages will suit all sizes of Journals. The pages are sealed with White Gesso (this can be done in class).

Suitable for: all levels including Beginners. Everyone is made to feel welcome at Paper Flourish Journal classes – please come & join our fun morning!

Lesson Pack Workshop – FREE

Thursday 14th July – 9.30am-12.30pm


If you have purchased any of our beautiful My Happy Place kits you can attend this 3-hour session, sit at our big roomy table, drink our coffee, chat with like-minded people, and generally ‘hangout’ at Paper Flourish.

Bring your kits on the day (or you can purchase them when you are here) and get help if needed from the teachers. We have found this to be a great social event!

You get to choose either the stunning lavender set or the stunning green set.

At the class you will have a choice which colour set of exploding gift box and acetate cards you wish to do, both in gorgeous Mintay papers.

The exploding gift box is just beautiful with lots of lace, ribbon, flowers and a full sheet of sentiments to choose from. At the same time the acetate window picture cards are just soooooo pretty and are a different type of 3D card to create (folds flat).

Mystery Art Journal $30

We have a stunning page/s for you to create in the July Mystery Art Journal Class. The page won’t be revealed until the class but we can tell you that it involves a creative process that can not only be used in Journal pages but also in Cardmaking.

Bring along any sized art journal (or purchase one in store on the day) and be ready to enjoy a fun relaxing morning creating in your Journal & exploring the wonderful world of Mixed Media.

We used Clear Gesso to prepare the Journal page/s – this can be done at home or in class.

Sunflower Wreath Card with Marina $27

Monday 25th July – 10am-12.30pm


Stunning, Stunning, Stunning!

In the Paper Garden with this gorgeous Sunflower, blue daisy and
cornflower twig wreath in vibrant yellow and blues. This lesson is full of shaped copic coloured flowers and leaves.

Suitable for: You will need to have intermediate to advanced crafting skills as this lesson is quite complex.

Mystery Layout with Marg - $30

A double layout using beautiful fussy cut posies and butterflies.These features highlight the soft green, beige and lace patterned papers.

You can distress and ink your papers and add shimmer to your flowers. In your kit you will receive chipboard die cut sentiments and all cardstock to match your page.

Scrapathon - $20

Thursday 28th July – 9.30am-4.30pm


A daytime scrap session where you can bring your projects and supplies into the store and scrap the hours away!

This is the perfect chance to get some of your friends together and have an awesome social time of scrapbooking and laughter! Hot drinks are provided, please bring your lunch and nibbles.

Tools & Inks Used: bring any supplies you need to complete your project. Remember, you’ll have the whole store at your disposal should you need to purchase that little something extra!
